About the Retail & Luxury Goods Club:

  • What is the Retail & Luxury Goods Club?

With its stellar reputation and location in one of the world's retail and luxury capitals, Columbia Business School is uniquely positioned to produce the next generation of retail and luxury manager. The Retail and Luxury Goods Club seeks to leverage CBS's unique position by educating students about the retail and luxury goods industries through guest speakers, panelists, industry tours, alumni networking, and our annual conference. Additionally, the club helps students find school-year, summer, and full-time employment in the retail and luxury goods industries and works with the administration on the retail curriculum.

  • How do I join?

The RLG holds kick-off events and information sessions at the beginning of each semester, but students are invited to join at any point during their time at CBS.

  • What is the typical background of an RLG member?

Club members come from all sorts of backgrounds and bring a variety of career aspirations.  We have members with backgrounds as diverse and different as retail planning and government lobbying.

  • What do club activities consist of?

The club's goal is to foster student engagement with the retail and luxury goods industry through events that connect students with other like-minded students, relevant alumni, and industry professionals.  Our Events page provides a thorough cataloguing of typical RLG events and upcoming events.

  • What opportunities does the club provide for networking?

Through club events, such as the Annual Conference, alumni panels, office visits, and breakfast meetings with executives, the RLG provides many valuable opportunities to network with individuals in the retail and luxury goods industry.  Furthermore, all CBS students are given access to the alumni database for the purposes of networking with alums in relevant industries.
