Sylvana Ward-Durrett spent her career prior to Maisonette at Vogue where she began as the Executive Assistant to Vogue Editor-in- Chief, Anna Wintour. Sylvana quickly moved up the ranks and eventually took over as the Director of Special Projects. In this role, she oversaw events, digital video, and entertainment and was in charge of producing the annual Costume Institute Beneﬁt at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Maisonette is a highly curated online marketplace, aggregating the best children's brands and boutiques from around the world into one, online destination. Co-founders Sylvana Ward-Durrett and Luisana Mendoza Roccia started Maisonette after a combined 17 years at Vogue. Both mothers of three, they were frustrated spending too much time scouring the web trying to find high quality and unique pieces for their kids.
Maisonette aims to do for the kids’ market what Net-a-Porter and Farfetch did for adults: stock hundreds of brands, from cult and international houses to little-known labels, in one convenient online destination. Maisonette combines the high-end local boutique shopping experience with the convenience and optionality of shopping online. In addition to being a one-stop shopping destination, Maisonette is quickly becoming the authority on parenting and children's style through its custom content and exclusive designer collaborations.
