Sarah Brown

Sarah Brown is an award-winning writer and journalist, noted beauty authority, brand advisor and strategist. She is a Vogue Contributing Editor and a Business of Fashion columnist.

Sarah began her career at ELLE magazine, starting as an intern in the Beauty department during college, joining the magazine full-time as an assistant after graduation, and being named a Senior Editor by the age of 23. She spent 15 years at Vogue, 13 of which as Beauty Director. In 2015, she launched Sarah Brown Advisory, advising emerging and established brands in the beauty, wellbeing, lifestyle, private equity, and tech arenas. Sarah was a Judge and producer on Season 1 of American Beauty Star, a series that aired on Lifetime TV in the United States and in 200 territories worldwide.

She is the recipient of the 2006 Skin Cancer Foundation Skin Sense Award, the 2014 March of Dimes Spirit of Beauty Award, and the 2015 Skin Cancer Foundation Skin Sense Media Award for her Vogue article, “Ban de Soleil.”
Sarah received a B.A. from Vassar College, and is a graduate of the Radcliffe Publishing Course. She lives in New York.
